AHLEM Signs a Strategic Alliance with 1686 Partners
Innovation and tradition come together for a sustainable future in luxury.
Luxury eyewear brand AHLEM, known for its exclusive eyewear collections and commitment to craftsmanship, has announced a strategic partnership with 1686 Partners, a Luxembourg-based private equity firm specializing in lifestyle companies focused on sustainability and responsible innovation. This investment will enable AHLEM to expand its global presence, strengthen retail operations, enhance client services, boost wholesale activities, develop marketing initiatives, and increase production capacity.
With the financial support of 1686 Partners and under the leadership of newly appointed CEO Enrico Sanavia, AHLEM aims to double its business within three years, establishing itself as a key player in the international luxury eyewear sector.
“We are thrilled to partner with the team at 1686 Partners, who share our approach to responsible growth and demonstrate that it is possible to develop with integrity,” said Ahlem Manai-Platt, founder and creative director of AHLEM. “I have always run my brand based on intuition, and from my first meeting with their team, I knew this would not just be an investor relationship but a true partnership built on a shared vision. We have the same goal: to build a meaningful and lasting legacy.”
Founded in 2014, AHLEM has distinguished itself with its timeless aesthetic and dedication to artisanal quality. Its creations have been embraced by globally renowned artists and influencers, including musicians Leon Bridges and Beck, Vogue fashion editor Jorden Bickham, and GQ’s fashion director-at-large Mobolaji Dawodu. Prestigious collaborations, such as its partnership with the philanthropic organization (RED), have further strengthened the brand’s presence in the global creative community.
Over the past five years, AHLEM has doubled its sales, expanding its retail network with new boutiques in Paris and San Francisco, alongside flagship stores in Venice Beach and New York City. The company stands out for its commitment to sustainability, incorporating reusable and compostable packaging solutions and launching an upcycling initiative that gives a second life to used eyewear.
Founded in 2023, 1686 Partners aims to transform innovative companies into industry leaders. The fund goes beyond pure financial logic, supporting brands with strong identities and championing sustainable materials, technological innovation, and eco-responsible distribution models.
