9 glasses with unique character

Written by MIDO | 07/13/2023

Different eyewear proposals interpret all aspects of the current zeitgeist. Along with minimalist solutions and classic forms, the designers challenge traditional shapes and uses with high-impact eyewear that is at times even extreme.

The design narrative behind these proposals is increasingly original, blending past and present while looking towards a totally original future. The matter swells, reaching 3D proportions, and interweaves within the parts of the glasses.

Definitely aimed at consumers who want to stand out from the crowd, the new high-impact glasses feature slightly surreal design. And, voilà, originality is all yours.

Inspired by an archive design from the brand, this model is a limited edition which, thanks to complex production techniques, boasts chromatic and structural effects that highlight the fresh and modern leaf-shaped profile.

Barrow by De Rigo Vision

The Liquid model is characterised by soft and sinuous shapes, with shiny and transparent acetates. The bubble-effect temples bear contrasting Barrow logo lettering.

Io Unconventional

The model ISM1160 of the Fil di Ferro 2023 collection is based on the concept of curviness: a fine strand creates soft lines on the temples, doubling up on the rims.

Komono

The result of a collaboration between the brand and the fashion department of the Accademia Reale di Belle Arti of Anversa, the “Core” collection by student Marcel Sommer offers unyielding lines that merge in elegant curves. The harmonious shape and colour palette create a sculpted aesthetic, representing the futuristic mood of the collection.

Kuboraum

Part of the Crossover Limited edition capsule collection, R2 offers a strong rectangular design in translucent acid green, further enhanced by rock’n’roll details applied by hand.

Philipp Plein by De Rigo Vision

Plein Jewel – Special Edition offers an oversize irregular hexagonal frame on acetate sunglasses The iconic supersize skull, with removable charm, is embedded in the bold temples, and is entirely covered with an incredible 200 crystals attached by hand.

Nina Mur

The Super Hero collection is made in birch wood with solid and translucent laminate sheets that add a soft texture to the natural plywood base.

Valentino

The V-Gold shape frame front is embellished with a personalised bridge complete with chiselled motif that echoes the studs and temples in titanium.

Veronica Wildgruber

The bridge slips into the rims, forming a continuous line that connects the temples. The opaque colours highlight the concept while a variety of different surface treatments emphasise the volume created by softer colour combinations.
