OneSight and its noble undertaking

Founded and sponsored by Luxottica, OneSight is an independent nonprofit organization committed to fighting the crisis in eye care services. On July 21 it opened the first sustainable vision center at Ruhengeri Hospital in Rwanda, thanks to the team work of 45 Luxottica volunteers. The team also set up an operating model that uses a vast network of health care operators in Rwanda; they will be in charge of educating villagers on the importance of taking care of their eyes and instructing them to visit the vision center whenever necessary. The pilot stage in Rwanda will continue until November 2015 and will lay the foundation for the development of the project in the country.
