Issey Miyake backs to the eyewear world
In collaboration with Japan’s Keneko Optical, the Issey Miyake brand has launched a new project in the eyewear world: Issey Miyake Eyes Project. Yusuke Takahashi, designer for the Japanese label, declared: “The concept was inspired by the idea of a metal temple rendered like a simple brushstroke. In the same way that Issey Miyake’s “making clothing” begins with the idea of a single piece of fabric, we have worked on developing an eyewear proposal that starts with a single line.” Keneko Optical is based in Sabae, Japan, and thanks to its “Backstage” production facility and chain of direct-management stores, it can direct the entire process from planning and design to manufacturing and sales.
