Safilo and Petrarca Rugby renew agreement

'We are proud to collaborate with Petrarca again this year. Apart from the values of rugby, like team spirit, a determination to achieve aims, loyalty among team mates, which Safilo shares with Carrera Petrarca, our company feels especially close to this team, which has strong roots in Padua, just like the Safilo Group'. These were the words spoken by Safilo Chief Executive Massimiliano Tabacchi during the presentation of the team now preparing for the Super 10 2008/2009 championship kickoff September 13.

The presentation took place at the 'Centro Geremia' in Padua during a break with music from Radio Padua: the meeting involved the players and managers of Carrera Petrarca, as well as Massimiliano Tabacchi, Chief Executive of the Safilo Group, and Samantha Tabacchi, Corporate Communication and Identity Manager.

The season will begin Saturday, September 13 at the Plebiscito stadium, where Carrera Petrarca will host Femi CZ Rovigo for the first day of the season.

'The new season is beginning and, as always, it's a time of anxiety and expectation', said Carrera Petrarca president Fulvio Lorigiola. 'We are certain that we will do the best we can and that we will be able to take up this new challenge in the proper spirit.'

During the evening, there was also an award for Petrarca's Under 15s, which won the national title for the category last year.

Next season, Carrera Petrarca will support CUAMM, a non-government organization set up in 1950 to train doctors for developing countries.
