Rodenstock: new general manager for Italy

Rodenstock S.p.A., the leading German company in the lenses and frames sector, has appointed Alberto Tappainer as its general manager for Italy.

'Dr. Alberto Tappainer is a manager with international experience and excellent knowledge of the sector. We are therefore convinced that Dr. Tappainer will work with his team and successfully achieve the growth objectives for the Italian market, which is very important for us'. These were the words of Peter Littmann, chief executive of the parent company, Rodenstock S.p.A.

Alberto Tappainer, 56, has been working in the optics sector for over twenty-five years. He began his career at Galileo S.p.A., where he was the general manager and member of the boards of directors of the subsidiaries in Italy, Germany, France, Spain and the United States. For five years he was the general manager of Optilens Italia S.r.l. (a part of the Essilor Group since 2004), where he was instrumental in turning the group round and considerably increasing its billings.
