New for the Gucci women 2009
Gucci's new collection of eyewear for women includes exclusive sun and vision models decorated with the historical icon recently used by the Florentine label on its apparel and accessories in a celebration of luxury and refined elegance.Until now, Gucci's historical crest has been a feature of the eyewear line for men, but it is now the star of the new collection for women and gives it a strong personality. Introduced by Guccio Gucci in the early Fifties, the crest shows a knight in armor with two cases, a reference to the local legend according to which the members of the original Gucci family were saddle makers to renaissance aristocrats. A rose and a rudder are shown above the knight and symbolize the family's refinement and entrepreneurism. In the large acetate version in warm Havana and honey, the crest is set into the temples to create a unique and highly distinctive detail. The exclusive crest in fine metal filigree on the metal and acetate models is a light and precious detail that seems to be suspended between the temples and the front piece.
The rock 'n' roll spirit and innate nonchalance that make the entire Gucci collection unique, modern and sexy, are a feature of the large drop-shaped model with round gold studs that stand out against a black or Havana background. Vintage inspired, the temples of the new eyewear also have the precious stud element in elegant gold and ruthenium. Refinement and uniqueness is further emphasized by the temples with the Gucci script that enhances this model's esthetic content.
The two versions of this wraparound model are alluring and precious: the special edition with the interlocking GG is studded with rhinestones that light up the temples with a jewel effect. In the sporty version, the Gucci script stands out on the temples. A strong vintage mood for a large-sized model with linear lines, a metal tag on the sides of the temples and the engraved Gucci script on the refined profile.
For the vision frames in metal and acetate, equally alluring patterns enhance modern lines, like the rectangular silhouette of the model with the framed crest on the front of the temples.
