New creative agency for Police

The final decision came at the end of last November's pitch. Five agencies competed: Ogilvy, Red Cell, DDB, Opinion Leader and 1861 United all presented ad hoc projects for products in the Police world.

As Police brand manager Barbara De Rigo underscored, 'We selected 1861 United because its creative proposal was consistent with the brand: very fresh, immediate, suitable for use with all the product classes and in tune with our objectives. The agency is also international, an essential factor for our brand that is now distributed worldwide. '

The new Milan-based agency will not only handle eyewear but also the entire Police world.

'1861 United will provide global consultancy' Barbara De Rigo pointed out, 'to support Police in all its communication activities'.

With offices also in New York City, Oslo, Antwerp, Buenos Aires, Madrid, Seattle and Paris, the agency's clients include Sky, Vodafone, Yamaha, Nattuzzi, Rtl and Nestlè.

The contract begins end February and the first test bed will be the sun campaign for the new 2009 models scheduled for presentation at Sunday 2008 in July.
