New Air Optix Aqua lenses for Ciba Vision
Ciba Vision has announced the launch of its latest innovation in the silicone hydrogel monthly lenses segment: Air Optix™Aqua, the contact lenses with high oxygen transmission that combine a new level of all day, every day comfort on contact and healthy-looking eyes. Air Optix Aqua lenses are immediately comfortable and stay that way thanks to the innovative Aqua Moisture System which: 1.Lubricates for comfort on contact - an innovative moisture agent makes Air Optix Aqua lenses so comfortable from the moment you insert them that it almost feels as if you aren't wearing them (initial comfort).
2. Holds comfort for the entire day - the patented Air Optix Aqua material helps to keep lenses moist and prevents them from dehydrating, so they stay comfortable all day long.
3.Prolongs comfort every day - a smooth, polished surface with superior wettability - specifically designed to prevent the formation of deposits for comfort day after day.
Thanks to the innovative Aqua Moisture System, Air Optix Aqua lenses combine advanced moisturizing with oxygen to meet wearers' frequent and unquestionable need to improve health and comfort.
Air Optix Aqua lenses also have excellent resistance to lipid deposits and this contributes to the healthy and comfortable use of lenses.
Air Optix Aqua have high oxygen transmission, which protects the wearer from the signs and symptoms of oxygen deficiency, resulting in the improved health of the cornea to give wearers a lens that not only gives the feeling of healthy-looking eyes, but also takes Air Optix to a new level.
Air Optix Aqua should be replaced one month after opening the blister, which helps to promote the correct use of the lenses by wearers.
In recent years, Ciba Vision has made large investments in the field of product innovation and in the improvement of patented processes. This is to the advantage of the entire range of silicone hydrogel lenses, Air Optix Aqua included. Improved production and processes leads to lens construction of excellent quality and efficiency.
Air Optix Aqua lenses are made from the same material as the Air Optix lenses, lotrafilcon B, they have a 33% water content and are available in the following spherical strengths for the correction of myopia and hyperopia:
•from -0.25 to -8.00, incr. 0.25D
•from -8.50 to -10.00, incr. 0.50D
•from +0.25 to +6.00, incr. 0.25D
They have a diameter of 14.2 mm, a base curve of 8.6 mm and a light blue handling tint. They are recommended for daily wear or up to 6 nights of extended wear, depending on the opinion of the ophthalmologist or optician. Air Optix and AIR OPTIX AQUA also have the same diameter and the same base curve so there's no need for a new application for current Air Optix wearers.
