Marchon celebrates 25th anniversary

During its first 25 years, Marchon has already achieved a surprising number of goals that range from the innovative Flexon frames, which gave rise to a completely new category of materials in the eyewear world, to leading operating software and extraordinary capital in terms of brands under license.

Set up in 1983 by three entrepreneurs, Al Berg, Larry Roth and Jeff White, over the years Marchon has become a global power and expects to exceed billings of 500 million dollars in 2008. «When we set up the company in 1983 with 12 agents and 12 employees, we wanted to become protagonists on the world scene», said Al Berg, chief executive and cofounder of Marchon.

«Even if it seemed unrealistic at the time, we were certain that there were all the prerequisites for a US-based eyewear company to become a key player, even in an area completely dominated by international suppliers», the CEO continued.

Today, Marchon has a team of over 2,500 employees throughout the world. Larry Roth, cofounder of the company, said: «Throughout its history, the company has made important strategic moves, beginning in 1988 when operations were transferred from a small office in Plainview, NY, to a leading-edge structure in Melville, NY». The company's 25th anniversary celebrations will include numerous initiatives for Marchon clients, staff, agents and the entire Marchon community.
