Marchon also wins a Silmo d'Or
In Paris, the Marchon Group was awarded the Silmo d'Or for the 'Sun' category. The award, one of the most important in Europe, was presented to the company that combined a stylistic and creative approach with innovative new products in ophthalmology.
Presented September 2008, the winning eyewear, Emilio Pucci model EP629S, is in cellulose acetate and plastic, a perfect blend of bright colors and the inimitable prints that have always been a feature of the Florentine brand. Specifically, the eyewear faithfully reproduces 'Vivara', the distinctive graphics that were designed by Marquis Emilio Pucci himself.
The Pucci license, one of the gems in Marchon's license portfolio, dates back to 2007 and covers the creation, production and global distribution of the eyewear. The Pucci collection also includes injected frames and the use of hi-tech coatings and exclusive coloring techniques totally renders the brand's distinctive colors.
Marchon Italy managing director Giancarla Agnoli commented that 'this new award repays all the efforts of our style center in Italy. Creativity and authenticity are the keys to our success, not only with consumers but also with the operators in the sector'.
