
Limited edition goggles for Victor Bérard school
Gilles Demetz, vice president of Sidol (the union of optics importers and distributors) and director general of Demetz Optique de Sport is supporting the 2007-2009 promotion of the Victor Bérard school in Morez. At the school's 'Portes Ouvertes' (open doors) day Saturday, March 15, Gilles Demetz gifted 160 students the new Fly ski goggles inspired by the skiing instructors' uniform. The competition-style models in white and red show the name of the school.
The 'Portes Ouvertes' day brought together numerous political personalities and operators in the optics sector who walked along the streets of Morez in the afternoon. Political personalities included Marie-Christine Dalloz, congresswoman and mayor of Saint-Claude, Denis Vuillermoz, regional counselor, François Godin, general counselor, and Jean-Paul Salino, mayor of Morez. Also taking part in the event were the school's president, Georges Bichet, the president of Jura opticians and Oxibis CEO, Jérôme Colin, Henry Venet, Director General of Jura Opticians and General Representative of GIFO (Groupement des Industriels et Fabricants de l'Optique), and Gérard Vuillet, CEO of Vuillet Vega.
The meeting ended with the traditional 'Optics Ball' which had over 400 participants this year.
