"La Via" takes off in Cadore with Marcolin

The 'La Via' cooperative of Agordo provides a helping hand in Cadore. At Vallesella di Cadore a new laboratory created by the social entity has been in operation since December 17. Four new employees (part of the ULSS 1 integration initiative) will work on packing advertising material for Marcolin eyewear.

The Belluno-based company decided to join the 'La Via' project together with the Province of Belluno and to guarantee work for the teams. 'It is important that this work is carried out in Cadore, where there aren't many opportunities for employment' explained Francesco Scandolo, president of the cooperative. 'We intend to consolidate the new laboratory quickly and widen its activities'. The four people suggested by the ULSS 1 Labor Integration Service will be working at Vallesella: two in the morning and two in the afternoon.

'It will be an important and ongoing opportunity for them' Scandolo continued. 'The organization of the work was inspired by our laboratory at Lentiai, where ten disabled people have been working for almost a year on packing Luxottica advertising material to be sent all over the world'.
It is a pilot project that involves the Province as well as Luxottica and which the 'La Via' cooperative is implementing also in Cadore with Marcolin eyewear.
'At Lentiai we've seen employee motivation increase on a daily basis' said 'La Via''s president, 'and the quality of the work is excellent. That's why we are proud to have reached an agreement with another important Belluno company and to have started up a new laboratory in Vallesella through the opportunity afforded by the Biagi Law'.
