Herminator and Carrera triumphant at Lake Louise

It was the great Austrian champion's 24th victory on Sunday at the Super-G, a discipline in which he surpassed all the others and gained the nickname of 'Herminator' because of his energy and determination.

Hermann Maier at Lake LouiseMaier, who will be 36 December 7, measured himself on a route that was new to him and reached speeds of 120 km/hour. During this spectacular performance the athlete wore Carrera's Fireball ski helmet and Stealth ski goggles, which gave him total protection and allowed him to push his capabilities to the maximum in a performance that is now legendary.

In detail, Fireball is a competition ski helmet made in painted ABS, a material that is extremely light but highly protective, the perfect solution for skiers who want maximum performance. The ear-height perforations on the sides allow air to flow and guarantee perfect equilibrium perception at all times and excellent balance. The rear part of the helmet is fitted with a housing for ski goggles so that they don't move from the preferred position. The helmet (EN 1077 homologated) also allows for chinguard adaptation.

Stealth goggles have a decisive design with innovative technical characteristics, such as the new 'Zero Resistance' lens that guarantees streamlined and anti-fog properties thanks to the 'Seal-Ring' technology; it keeps the dual-cylinder lenses perfectly parallel to create an effective thermal barrier that eliminates annoying fogging, which is also prevented by the active ventilation system, and any field of vision distortion. The goggles also come with the new multilayer, polarizing lenses for perfect vision without reflections, or with the sophisticated colors of the innovative Gradient Performance Shade (GPS) lenses that offer extreme comfort because reflections from the sun are reduced in the upper part of the lens while the lower part provides greater color definition.
