Fedon Group presents data for first six months 2008
Despite a difficult moment for the economy and finance, for the first six months of 2008 Giorgio Fedon & Figli S.p.A. recorded an Ebitda (operating result) of Euro 1.689 million, more than double the figure for the same period 2007.
'For some time now the company has been equipped to cope with changing market conditions with significant investments in technology and products' stated company president Callisto Fedon. 'Combined with cost rationalization and containment, they have brought results that even exceeded the plan's expectations. In this particular market situation, we do not expect billings to increase, but our more streamlined structure is supported by an adequate number of orders. Subsequent months have confirmed this trend. Our leverage for coping with increasingly demanding markets will come from a major new addition that we will present end October at Silmo in Paris. The business & travel Giorgio Fedon 1919 collection has a new, highly innovative product and the first tests have shown that there is strong interest and the number of bookings is good. But I won't say too much about it now as I don't want to spoil the surprise at the fair-event!'.
The company is still the undisputed global leader of the eyewear cases and accessories sector and has a strong presence among the big names in the optical world. It has subsidiaries and retail sales offices in Paris, Munich, Hong Kong, New York and Boston.
