Daniel Swarovski Crystal Eyewear on Milanese runways

Daniel Swarovski Crystal Eyewear presented its new collections during the Lidia Cardinale fashion show September 26 at the historic Press Club in Milan's Palazzo Serbelloni.

For over 20 years Lidia Cardinale has been a synonym for haute couture and prêt-à-porter fashion with a femininity that is both glamorous and elegant. The spring/summer 2009 showings were also the perfect stage for the new collections of vision and sun eyewear by Daniel Swarovski crystal eyewear, which has always been distinguished by its refined and elegant lines.

Attending the fashion shows were famous guests like the Hon. Paolo Romani (the Undersecretary for Communications) and journalist and television presenter Cesare Cadeo. The show was closed by Maria Monsè, the actress and television presenter who has been on the Italian television entertainment scene for some years.

Daniel Swarovski crystal eyewear lit up the runway with its sparkling new vision and sun collections. The Couture Collection, 'Passages of Night', included exclusive models inspired by the hectic rhythm of city nightlife, decorated with Xilion crystals in the elegant colors typical of eveningwear: blue, moka, champagne, red, gray, silver, chocolate and purple.

For daywear, the two sun collections were the quintessential expression of luxury: Melange and Supernature. The stars of the Melange collection were the extraordinarily brilliant and luminous hand-set Xilion Chaton crystals. The Melange models - with and without rims - enhance the wearer's face without hiding it and light up the eyes in a unique play of colors ranging from brown to khaki, from pastel to black and the top model in white with crystals in a contrasting color. The round lenses are shaded in light colors.

Inspired by nature, the models in the Supernature collection convey the delicacy and elegance of flowers. Xilion crystals illuminate and enhance the frames in alluring warm or cool natural colors (Moods of Meadow, Gipsy Rose, Pacific Blue) or classic nuances (Silver Shadow, Golden Shadow, Golden Moonlight, Savannah Brown).

For a romantic, feminine look, Daniel Swarovski crystal eyewear proposes the Special Limited Edition Love 2009, a celebration of the joys of love. Two limited edition models - with or without rims - in Vintage Rosé with temples enhanced by 400 Chaton crystals in shades of pink and with soft pink lenses.

Opulence is conveyed in the limited edition Star Edition frame. Only 50 examples of this one-piece frame have been produced, worldwide. With gold-colored crystals applied to the lenses, it has hundreds of hand-set Chaton crystals on the temples, which also have star-shaped decorations.

The intriguing cocktail of shapes and colors in the Daniel Swarovski crystal eyewear collection is combined with the comfort of frames in SPX - a strong, feather-light synthetic material - and the precious 23-carat gold used to coat the metal components in the frames. All the sun filters are unbreakable, anti-glare, scratch-resistant and give total protection from UV rays.
