Visibilia renews Blumarine license
Blufin renews its contract with Visibilia for the Blumarine brand. The renewal of the agreement, which has a five-year duration with effect from 1st January 2007, provides for the production and distribution of Blumarine prescription eyewear and sunglasses throughout the world.
This is an important decision which strengthens both parties' desire to motivate a new and vital development phase, but above all it reconfirms a strong entrepreneurial trust which dates back to 1998. Thanks to Blumarine's stylistic strength and the business dynamism of Visibilia, eyewear by Blumarine has witnessed a 36% increase in sales over a six-month period, both in Italy and abroad.
Blufin, with the Blumarine and Blugirl brands, manages nine licensing agreements for the manufacture and distribution of collections in the following sectors; eyewear, girlswear, beachwear, underwear, gloves, watches, leather goods, home wear and tableware, with a turnover in 2005 of 50m Euro just in the licensing department (+43% increase in the period from 2003-2005).
'The license for the Blumarine eyewear collection is definitely significant, both in terms of turnover and in terms of image, an image which must always be up to the same standard as that of the brand. Just to prove how important our range of eyewear is to complete the overall image of our fashion wear, we always include the most representational models in our fashion shows. We are renewing our trust in Visibilia thanks to the excellent results and the profitable working relationship which have been achieved, we will now proceed with our mutual strategic goal of expanding our business in foreign markets', said Gianguido Tarabini, Licensing Manager of the Blufin Group.
Visibilia represents one of the most dynamic players in the eyewear industry and possesses great business intuition. The company operates through numerous distribution channels which are backed up by the use of direct branches. It has registered an increase in turnover in the last six months of more than 20% and forecasts closing 2006 with a consolidated turnover of approximately 30m Euro.
'We are particularly proud to announce the renewal of such a humanly satisfying agreement; an agreement which encourages us to achieve new goals. The Blumarine brand has always represented the jewel in our business crown and we believe that its image, with such great stylistic value, can determine a new worldwide development phase', said Dan Levi, President of Visibilia.
The Blumarine Eyewear A/W 2006 campaign will once again be interpreted by Martina Stella. The young actress will be starring in important television and theatre productions in the following months.
