Turin Olympics: many Rudy Project athletes on the podium

A week after the start of the 2006 Winter Olympic Games in Turin, Rudy Project has been on the most coveted podium steps several times thanks to its athletes who all wear the new ImpactX photochromic lenses.

In the 5000 meter speed skating event, Enrico Fabris received the first medal for Italy by winning a bronze in 6'18"25. A historic event because he is the first Italian to win an Olympic medal in this sport. Enrico Fabris, Ippolito Sanfratello and Matteo Anesi won the final of the team pursuit in 3'44''46 and gained a gold medal.Rudy athletes were also victorious in the biathlon: Michael Greis from Germany won a gold in the men's 20 km individual race, while Martina Glagow took the bronze for the women's 15 km individual event. More brilliant results in the women's 10 km pursuit with first place going to Kati Wilhelm, second to Martina Gagow and fifth to Michela Ponza.

Triumph also in the women's Nordic skiing team sprint event with Sweden's Anna Dahlberg and Lina Andersson, and in the men's with Bjorn Lindh. A silver for the women's event went to Beckie Scott.

Another bronze medal in the women's 10 km cross country skiing was won by Hilde Pederson from Norway with Steira Kristen in fourth place.

In the 4x5 km Nordic combined team event, the silver was won by Ronny Ackermann and Bjorn Kircheisen in the German team. In the women's 4x5 relay, another silver went to Germany's Evi Sachenbacher and Viola Bauer, and the bronze to Italians Gabriella Paruzzi, Arianna Follis and Antonella Confortola.

The gold medal for the men's 15 km Nordic skiing event was won by Andrus Veerpalu and the bronze by Tobias Angerer from Germany. In the men's 4x10 km relay, Giorgio di Centa and Cristian Zorzi won the gold, Germany's René Sommerfeldt and Tobias Angerer won the silver, and Anders Soedergren and Mathias Fredriksson from Sweden won the bronze.

Quite good results in the short track with seventh place going to Fabio Carta in the 1500 meters and another seventh place for Marta Capurso in the women's 500 meters.
