Turin: champions of Carrera Ski Racing Team standing high on podiums

Anja PaersonThe 2006 Olympic Winter Games have just ended with the athletes of the Carrera Ski Racing Team having conquered important goals, bringing Carrera sunglasses, helmets and goggles onto the most important podiums. Carrera is the proud recipient of 5 Gold Medals, 4 Silver Medals and 8 Bronze Medals.

Swedish Anja Paerson conquered a Gold Medal in the Slalom on the 22nd of February and two Bronze Medals, one in the Downhill on the 15th and one in the Combined on the 18th of February while Austrian Alexandra Meissnitzer conquered the Bronze Medal in Super-G on the 20th of February and Swedish Anna Ottosson achieved the Bronze Medal in Giant Slalom on the 24th of February.

Rainer SchoenfelderAmong its most talented athletes, Carrera Ski Racing Team also presented Austria's Michael Walchhofer who reached the Silver Medal in the Downhill on the 12th of February; Austria's Rainer Schoenfelder who conquered two Bronze Medals (in the Combined on the 14th of February and in the Slalom on the 25th of February); the champion Hermann Maier who conquered the Silver Medal in the Super-G on the 18th of February and the Bronze Medal in the Giant Slalom on the 20th of February.

Apart from Alpine Ski, Carrera products (sunglasses, ski-goggles and ski-helmets, guaranteed by the experience and expertise of Safilo Group) were also leading the way in several other disciplines: in Biathlon with Czech Republic's Lukas Bauer who conquered the Silver Medal in the Cross-Country 15 km on the 17th of February. In Ski-Jumping it was a real triumph for Austria's Thomas Morgenstern who conquered two Gold Medals: one in the Individual Ski Jumping of the 18th of February and one in the Team Ski Jumping of the 20th of February.

Also the Nordic Combined saw the triumph of many Carrera athletes, like Austria's Felix Gottwald, Michael Gruber, Mario Stecher and Christoph Bieler, who conquered the Gold Medal in the competition of the 16th of February. In particular, Felix Gottwald reached the Silver Medal in the Nordic Combined 15 km Individual Gundersen on the 11th of February and the Gold Medal in the Nordic Combined 7,5 km Sprint on the 21st of February.
