The Charm of Coco Song by Area

Area presented recently in Paris a preview of the 16 Coco Song sunglass models which now join the ophthalmic line.

The feature it shares with the ophthalmic collection is the use of exclusive plastic in a limited series. The precious silks enclosed between a layer of colored acetate and one in transparent crystal give them a particular vivacity and brilliance.

The colors and combinations range from the softest matchings, such as orange/black, acid green/black, to more daring one like fuchsia/green, light blue/pink and turquoise/orange. The star combination is orange/red, chosen as the Leitmotif of the sun lines and re-proposed in the merchandising (display, cases, bags).

In line with the dictates of fashion, the shapes are large and wraparound. The models are in plastic or metal, but there is no lack of combinations (plastic front and metal temples, or vice versa).

The wide temples are outstanding, and enhanced by silver inserts featuring symbols of the millennia-long Chinese tradition. One example is the dragon which twines sinuously along the length of the temple. The aluminum temples also bear the same Oriental symbolisms impressed on the metal and in ton-sur-ton shading.
