Upcoming Winter Paralympics Games 2006 in Turin (March 10-19) and athletes in various specialties are ready to give their best at this important event. Snow goggles and sunglasses by Smith, whose quality is guaranteed by the experience of the Safilo Group, have been chosen by some of the Italian Alpine Skiing athletes.

Gianmaria Dal Maistro and Tommaso BalassoPartially-sighted Gianmaria Dal Maistro from Vicenza, member of the Italian Alpine Skiing Team for the Disabled, and coach Tommaso Balasso, normally wear Prodigy goggles, but during the Alpine Skiing events they will wear Phenom goggles. At Nagano in 1998, Gianmaria Dal Maistro won two silver medals (Downhill Freestyle and Giant Slalom) and a bronze medal (Slalom).

Partially-sighted Silvia Parente from Milan will wear Frontline sunglasses and her guide, Lorenzo Migliari, accompanying her on the descents, will wear Theory during the Alpine Skiing races. Silvia Parente won a bronze medal for the Slalom at Lillehammer 1994 and a silver medal for the SuperG at the Wildschonau World Championships 2004.
