Safilo Group on the podium again

More prestigious victories for the Safilo Group at the Grand Prix in Japan, the third-last world championship motorcycling trial held on the Motegi circuit.

Carrera testimonial Mika Kallio from Finland sprinted home to win the 250cc at the Japan Grand Prix. This was his third success of the season after the GP in China and Holland, and it allowed him to maintain second place in the rider general classification with 226 points.

Also during the Japan Grand Prix, another Carrera testimonial, Jorge Lorenzo, took the third step on the podium in the 250cc class. The Spanish rider continues to lead the general classification in his category and has 265 points.

With only two races to go until the end of the championship, Imatra testimonial Valentino Rossi again closed the gap from the leader of the rider classification and took the second step on the podium at the Motegi circuit.

This is the Italian rider's fourth consecutive victory and eighth out of the last ten races.

With 224 points, the champion is currently second in the rider general classification.
