Rudy Project twice on the podium at Ironman in Hawaii
Michellie Jones, the athlete sponsored by Rudy Project, gained the top step of the podium for women. The thirty-seven-year-old American, who came second in her 2005 debut in the Ironman, demonstrated great strength in all the disciplines (swimming, cycling and running) and ended the competition in 9 h 18'31''.
For the men, a successful second place in 1'06'' went to Australian champion Chris McCormack who bravely tackled a really tough race.
Rudy Project provided the triathlon champions with top-level equipment.
Michellie Jones and Chris McCormack were able to benefit from the guaranteed high performance of Sportmask glasses from the new Rudy Project collection for 2007. Ideal due to their unrivalled lightness, interchangeable lenses and silicone nose-piece, Sportmask also stands out for its fashionable look. The technical features are real winners: the Grilamid TR 55 LX frame guarantees structural integrity and stability, the innovative Quick Change system for the lenses enables to cope perfectly with any changes in weather conditions; the Silpad nose-piece with non-allergic and non-toxic silicone cushions can be adjusted and it is non-slip.
The other trump card played by Michellie Jones and Chris McCormack is the new Syton Carbon helmet. After being tested during the Tour de France and winning the white shirt with a young and promising Damiano Cunego, it returned to the podium as a great champion. Designed to guarantee maximum air control and offer a high standard of safety, the helmet includes an extremely light aerodynamic carbon tail especially designed to reduce air resistance.
