
Rudy Project at Turin Olympics 2006
Around 180 athletes will wear Rudy Project eyewear at the 20th Winter Olympics in Turin from February 10 through 26, 2006. All fitted with the new ImpactX latest-generation photochromic and polarizing lenses, the glasses give superior clarity of vision in any weather conditions.
The athletes who will be wearing Rudy quality include Enrico Fabris, the great hope for long-distance skating who currently holds the Italian record for the 1,500 and 5,000 meters. Among the women in this discipline is Chiara Simionato, winner of the last World Cup for the 1,000 meters overall and holder of the Italian record.
Another athlete with great expectations is Fabio Carta in the short-track. Now at his third Olympics, he won a silver medal at Salt Lake City four years ago.
In cross-country skiing, one of the people Rudy Project will be supplying is Giorgio di Centa, silver medallist in the Relay at the Salt Lake City Olympics in 2002 and in the Double Pursuit at the World Championships at Oberstdorf 2005. Also present is Cristian Zorzi, silver medallist at the Nordic Skiing World Championships at Lahti in 2001 for the 1,500 meter Sprint and bronze medallist at the 2002 Olympics. The women include Gabriella Paruzzi, gold medallist in the classical technique 30-kilometer Pursuit at the Olympics 2002 and winner of the World Cup 2003-2004.
For the German team, Axel Teichmann, winner of the general classification in the cross-country World Cup 2005, a promising Tobias Angerer, and Evi Sachenbacher. There are numerous athletes also in the US, Norwegian, Chinese and Swedish teams, including Lindh Bjorn and Mathias Fredriksson.
For the biathlon, René Vuillermoz, Italy, Katia Ivanova, Belarus, and Martina Glagow and Kati Wilhem, Germany. In the Nordic combination, Giuseppe Michielli and Ronnie Achermann.
In snowboarding, Marion Posch, who has been in the Italian team for twelve years and has won two World Championship golds and had sixteen victories in the World Cup, will be wearing Klonyx Snow, the hi-tech ski goggles with the leading-edge design and perfect ergonomics created by Rudy to guarantee perfect visibility, even in extreme weather conditions.
