Optimism in eyewear sector

Optimism in eyewear sector

'The optimism that has been felt in our sector in recent months', commented Valter Da Rin, president of SIPAO, the Assindustria Belluno section that brings together eyewear companies, 'has been confirmed and the market is taking off again. Our companies, even the smallest ones, are fully engaged in the search for new materials and design. They were prepared for Paris and they have been rewarded'.

It has been many years since the Eyewear Fair in Paris closed so positively for eyewear companies in Belluno: satisfaction, orders, new contacts and the strengthening of existing ones.

'A special thanks', emphasized Valter Da Rin, 'goes to the Veneto Region and to Assindustria Belluno, which supported the mission both financially and in terms of organization: an excellent example of how public and private synergies lead to great results. All the eyewear companies expressed their satisfaction about the organization of the group and requested that the same organization model should be proposed for subsequent fairs. Therefore, I would like to appeal to all institutions, the Province, the Chamber of Commerce, the Mountain Municipality and the Region to work together in the same way as this group has and truly support the recovery. Banks should also play an active role in this favorable trend by funding growth and development; lastly, our industries should not rest on their laurels; on the contrary, it's when things are going well that they should increase their presence by going round the world with their products', concluded the SIPAO president who, together with Assindustria Belluno, is already planning the March 2007 fair in New York City and the next events in the Middle and Far East.

The companies in the group (Brillarte of Lozzo di Cadore, Di Esse of Domegge di Cadore, Fao Flex of Segusino, Garrison of Vas, G.B. Occhiali of Auronzo di Cadore, Iride of Valdobbiadene, Kador Occhialeria of Calalzo di Cadore, Joint Project of Belluno, Luxol of Lozzo di Cadore, Mg Vision of Ponte nelle Alpi, Mistral of Quero, Martini Occhialeria of Lozzo di Cadore, Optital of Lozzo di Cadore, Top Color of Sedico, Trisottica of Segusino, Valottica of Domegge di Cadore and Visard of Quero) have enjoyed a double contribution: 30% from the Veneto Region under the terms of Law 8/2003 for Industrial Districts, and a VAT saving which rose from euros 700 to 1500 per company from Reviviscar, the Assindustria Belluno services company.
