Italian eyewear on the catwalk at Shanghai
For the second year in a row, Italian eyewear will be flying to Shanghai, to present a preview of fashion trends for Spring-Summer 2006 to the Chinese market. The appointment is slated for tomorrow, February 23th, in the breathtaking Bund18. A special location for an important event. Shanghai is one of the busiest and most cosmopolitan cities in Asia, as well as being an interesting and rapidly growing market. The catwalk is an exclusive moment for Italian companies, a unique opportunity to give even more luster to 'Made in Italy' eyewear production.
A total of 103 styles of eyewear and cases (that will be shown tomorrow also on EyesWay Special) will be the true stars of the event, and will take over the entire stage. Companies are well aware of this, and once again this year were enthusiastic about participating in this initiative which is jointly organised by Anfao (Italian Association of Optical Goods' Manufacturers), Italian Trade Commission (Ice) and the Ministry of Production Activities. The Chinese catwalk will feature men's and women's eyewear, frames for children and for various sports, and styles to suit every taste. All the products have been made with innovative materials and are an expression of a top quality design that is all about excellence and innovation. The Shanghai catwalk is therefore an event where Italian eyewear production will grab the spotlights, and rightly so. This is the reason why Anfao and Ice promote eyewear catwalks across the world: from Shanghai to Paris, as well as Moscow. An ambitious promotional project that grows in popularity each year.
'We are very pleased with the overwhelming response of eyewear companies to our promotional campaigns across the world', stated Anfao President Cirillo Marcolin, 'which are proving increasingly irresistible. This year, there will be 40 Italian companies in Shanghai, 20% more than last year. This is what Italian eyewear is all about, the «art of creating» and the ability to churn out a steady stream of new proposals for the market'.
'This year', add Mr. Maurizio Forte, Italian Trade Commissioner in Shanghai, 'the event is even more important: 2006 is 'the Year of Italy in China', which is an extraordinary opportunity to promote Italian culture and creativity, to export the Made in Italy concept which is not only an origin mark, but mainly a style of living and creating'.
The fashion show will therefore feature all the finest offerings of Made in Italy eyewear for Spring-Summer 2006. The Italian Style, in terms of frames, is all about 'surprise effect', elegant and casual chic styles: big sunglasses, to 'hide yourself', and to be mysterious and sophisticated, where the catchword is to turn people's heads. Seductive and refined eyewear frames that are an authentic tribute to a discrete and fascinating charm. Black, for a 'Dark Lady' look, fluo colors for a fun look as well as lots of rhinestones and golden vibrations.
