Eyewear line for Roger Vivier
Roger Vivier, the French brand that has been synonymous with elegant footwear since the Thirties and was acquired by entrepreneur Diego Della Valle in 2002, has completed its range of accessories.
After a first season that focused on its core business of shoes and bags, followed subsequently by jewelry and small leather items, this fall Roger Vivier (the Tod's Group is the exclusive licensee for production and distribution) will launch a new line of glasses produced by Marcolin (a company in which Della Valle and his brother have a 40.43% shareholding).
Appearing on such stars as Scarlett Johanson at the current Venice Film Festival, reproduced on the side of the glasses is the Mondrian buckle of the Belle de Jour dancers, a favorite with Yves Saint Laurent, which Vivier designed and renamed after Catherine Deneuve appeared in the movie of the same name.
This fall, the eyewear collection will be sold exclusively in mono-brand boutiques on Faubourg St Honore, Paris, in Hong Kong and London. They will then be available at Roger Vivier's new flagship store in New York, due to be inaugurated in December.
However, with new orders for the line, stores like Colette in Paris or 10 Corso Como in Milan (already brand outlets) might also stock the eyewear in the future.
In the meantime, after the trend of the first six months, which closed with billings of 2.7 million euros (+72.2 % compared to 2005), Roger Vivier will concentrate on retail with new stores being opened starting next year in Milan, Tokyo and again in Paris (reproduction restricted).
