Carrera enters the world of Formula Uno
Carrera sunglasses have entered the world of Formula One. Carrera, a brand leader in the sector of sports eyewear, ski helmets and goggles, has become the 'official eyewear supplier' of the 'Midland Formula 1 Racing' team, who are particularly competitive within its category.
As the sporting spirit of Safilo Group, Carrera has traditionally been a major player in the world of sport and is the brand chosen by top sportsmen and women in those disciplines where technology, performance and design play a decisive role.
At the Italian Grand Prix, held on Sunday 10th September in Monza, the team's drivers showed off their Carrera sunglasses. The models chosen by the drivers and the team include 'Countdown' and 'Chronos', which feature a sporty, dynamic, accentuated wrap design, as well as 'Flag 1' and 'Flag 11', two of the latest sophisticated models.
The safety of the pit team is guaranteed with the Carrera helmets and goggles being worn at all times during pit-stops.
Among the drivers of the 'Midland Formula 1 Racing' team, which now proudly presents the Carrera logo on the car, is Swiss-born Christijan Albers, currently 16th overall, and Portugal's Tiago Monteiro, currently 20th.
Carrera will supply sunglasses for the remaining part of the season, including the Chinese Grand Prix, to be held in Shanghai on 1st October, the Japanese Grand Prix, scheduled for 8th October in Suzuka and the Brazilian Grand Prix, which takes place in Sao Paulo on 22nd October.
