Carrera and Smith at Turin 2006 Winter Olympic Games

The 2006 Olympic Winter Games have just begun and the athletes of the Carrera Ski Racing Team have already secured important goals, bringing Carrera sunglasses, helmets and goggles onto the most important podiums.

Michael WalchhoferOn Sunday the 12th of February the Downhill competition was led by an extraordinary Michael Walchhofer, which garnered a Silver medal win, while Bruno Kernen's great performance won him a bronze medal. Austria's Michael Walchhofer and Suisse Bruno Kernen both wear Fireball ski helmet and Kimerik ski goggle, two of the most innovative Carrera products for ski.

The Nordic Combined on Saturday 11th of February also saw the triumph of one of the most talented Carrera athletes: Austria's Felix Gottwald, who conquered the Silver medal and brought Shark and C2-8 Comp sunglasses on the podium.

Hermann MaierThe upcoming competitions over the next few days will see plenty of athletes from the Carrera Ski Racing Team: the Men Slalom Combined today will see Austrian superstar Hermann Maier don the new version of Fiber ski helmet and Raptor ski goggle while Rainer Schoenfelder takes advantage of the protection brought by Nerve ski-helmet and Raptor ski goggle. Not to be outdone, Michael Walchhofer and Bruno Kernen will be enjoying the benefits of the Fireball ski helmet and Kimerik ski goggle.

Anja PaersonDuring the Women Downhill and the Combined Downhill on the 15th and 17th all eyes will be on Swedish Anja Paerson wearing Kimerik ski goggles and a special version of Fiber ski helmet. Spanish Maria Josè Rienda Contreras will be wearing Explorer Adv 2.5 ski helmet and Kimerik ski goggle while Austrian Alexandra Meissnitzer will be seen in Fireball ski helmet and Kimerik ski goggle.

The Men Biathlon 10 km Sprint today will have among its favourite athletes Austrian Juergen Pinter, wearing Shark and C2-8 Comp sunglasses, while at the Cross Country events we will follow the performances of Austrian Martin Tauber and Christian Hoffman.

Bruno KernenIn the next Ski-jumping competitions we will follow Swiss Simon Amman and Andreas Kuettel and Austria's Thomas Morgenstern, protected in their incredible jumps by Fireball and Kimerik ski helmets.

Also to follow are: in SuperG and Slalom, Italians Manuela and Manfred Moelgg and Austria's Stephan Goergl, all wearing Fireball ski helmets and Kimerik ski goggles; in the Combined and Slalom Swedish Johann Brolenius, wearing Nerve ski helmet and Raptor ski goggle; Downhill and Slalom's Elisabeth Goergl will join fellow Austrian and Giant Slalom athlete Andrea Fischbacher in wearing Fireball ski helmets and Kimerik ski goggles.

Finals for the Women Snowboard Halfpipe, held yesterday, were the occasion to focus on Polish Paulina Ligocka and American Kelly Clark, who wear the new Smith ski goggle, 'Phenom'. The final competition of Men Snowboard Halfpipe last Sunday the 11th of February, saw American Mason Aguirre conquering 4th place.
