Briko and +39 Team together at 'Cento Cup'

Great yachting is back at the Egadi Islands.

After the Louis Vuitton last year, from September 20 through 24 it is time for the 'Trapani Cento Cup', a level 1 event on the World Match Race circuit promoted by the Circolo Vela Gargnano, the '+39' Challenge club on Lake Garda, and the Trapani Yacht Club.

The twinning of Garda and Sicily continues thanks to +39, one of the 11 Alinghi challengers at the next America's Cup in Valencia.

From September 20 through 24, the port and gulf of Trapani will host the World Match Race regattas thanks to the collaboration of all the Sicilian institutions, starting with the Province of Trapani, the Municipality, the Region and, on this occasion, the Italian Postal Services.

Great helmsmen and experts in 'pure' match race challenges will be taking part, as well as representatives of the 4 America's Cup groups: Alinghi, Shosholoza, Mascalzone Latino and '+39', whose skipper will be Denmark's Stig Westergaard, already three-times Olympic-class world champion and currently the group's coach.

The crew will feature also ex Olympic champion Gabriele 'Ganga' Bruni from Palermo, Stefano Rizzi from Friuli, and Corrado Rossignoli from Piedmont.

The regattas will begin Thursday, September 21 and the final will be held at the stadium in the port of Trapani, where stands will be set up for the public.

The program includes the 'Poste Italiane Cup', the fleet trial held at night.

For '+39' Challenge, a group that boasts such partners as Regione Sicilia, Fondiaria Sai, Db-Line, Yamamay, Gilli, Sergio Tacchini and Briko, it will provide an important promotional opportunity as well as a significant presence in Sicily, a region that has always supported the team and has been the crew's first training ground since the beginning of 2004.

During the regattas, the +39 crew will be wearing the following Briko products suitable for anyone who goes in for top-level yachting.
