Bourgeois intends to transfer its ophthalmic lens business
The French company Bourgeois, in 'redressement judiciare' (receivership) since last January, has announced that it is seeking a buyer for its ophthalmic lens division, which is losing money due to insufficient commercial and distribution coverage.
The receiver underscores that a new start for the business, which has an efficient industrial facility, would be a 'real opportunity' for buyers capable of re-launching it. In 2005, the division had a turnover of 2.65 million euros.
If the transfer goes ahead, Bourgeois will still own the frames business.
