Bolle' on the podium with 'Tango'

The eighteenth edition of the prestigious Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup regatta recently came to an end. At Porto Cervo from September 3 through 9, 46 Italian and international yachts met to offer a stunning show for yachting enthusiasts. The winners received their awards in the beautiful Piazza Azzurra at the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, organizer of the event.

At the final regatta, Wally-category yachts set off on a 13-mile race; the weather was fairly unfavorable with a calm sea at the start, but the wind rose and turned this regatta into an extraordinary event.
Bollé was 'on the crest of the wave' as technical supplier for Tango, Carlo Sama's Wally, which a promising start at the first regatta, came third in the general classification.

The crew wore the Bollé Upshot model which was specifically designed for sport and has pioneering technology. Curved glasses (base 8) guarantee optimum side protection. The metal-reinforced temples can be folded and adjusted behind the ears to offer exceptional grip. The nose-piece and sleeves are in Thermogrip to prevent the glasses from slipping on perspiration, rain or spray.

The model supplied to the crew of Tango also had polarized lenses with a top-quality film that eliminates reflections from the water, cancels out glare and ensures sharper, clearer vision, without eyestrain.

The crew of the Tango will be wearing Bollé Upshot for all the 2006 regattas; after the Festival International de la Plaisance in Cannes from September 13 through 18, the next appointment was at the Monaco Yacht Show from September 20 through 23 and the season will end with the Voiles de Saint Tropez from October 1 through 8.

A special thanks goes to Tango's owner, Mr. Carlo Sama, who gave Bollé the opportunity to take part in the regattas as technical supplier.
