Arnette wins with Ivan Lazzarini

Arnette wins with Ivan Lazzarini

Another amazing performance by Ivan Lazzarini (Team Arnette) who concluded his first 2006 'mission' in the Pavese area.

He arrived in Castelletto tipped to win, but with an advantage being reduced in the national classification to 19 points due to a fall in Pomposa (and subsequent withdrawal from the race with a fractured wrist). This entailed a loss of points (-6) in the international classification. Despite all this, Ivan did not betray expectations and won.

First in the Freestyle, first in the qualification, first in the warm-up for the line-up, first in race one with an advantage of 10 seconds, first in race two with 3.5 seconds, fast laps in the first and second races and .....logically, at the end of the day:
Italian Champion for the 4th time running and international superchampion 2006 (International Classification).

Ivan gave one of those unique performances; an overwhelming strength that wiped out all his opponents.

Out of a total of 28 laps (17 laps in the first round and 10 in the second, which were interrupted by a serious accident involving one of the participants), Ivan was always in the lead for two rounds.

After the Poker (which placed Ivan among the most victorious with 10 Italian titles joining the 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 titles as well as those for Minicross and Motocross), Ivan reached number five because he also won the absolute Superchampion 2006 title, in other words, the final 1st place in the International Classification that includes riders from Italy and abroad (indeed, a kind of World Championship given that in Italy all the riders also compete in the World Championships).

Now that these two Championships are over, it is a non-stop journey to the last three World GPs (Cuneo, Mediterranean and Athens) with the Nations Cup in between on October 1st in Ireland, where Ivan will be the guy to be beaten as he has been winning this race since 2003 and will try to repeat his Nations Cup victory in 2005.
