adidas eyewear at Turin Olympics 2006

adidas eyewear will be the protagonist at the 19th Winter Olympics to be held in Turin from February 10 through 26, 2006. Extraordinary athletes will be taking part in the games and they will make maximum use of the potential offered by their equipment and, specifically, adidas eyewear will be supporting the sight of its athletes.

Meinhard ErlacherExpectations are high for Italian athlete Meinhard Erlacher who specializes in the snowboarding slalom. He'll be wearing the technological Burna goggles which have a ventilation system that prevents the lenses from misting. A professional who for years has been at the peak of the Italian specialist championships, Meinhard Erlacher has always been in the world cup circuit. His best international results in 2005 included third place in Korea, fourth in Austria and sixth in Spain.

Gazelle ClimaCool pro NordicThe numerous athletes selected by Adidas eyewear include the very strong Russian team Belarus Biathlon, a favorite at the games; the German front-runners are Uschi Disl (recently chosen as Best German Athlete 2005) and Andreas Birnbacher. Biathlon and the XC Ski athletes will wear the very new Adidas eyewear Gazelle ClimaCool pro Nordic, with specific technologies for this discipline. To guarantee perfect adaptability, these glasses, which come in two sizes, have such technologies as the Tri.Fit system and the Double-Snap Nose Bridge; these characteristics allow Gazelle ClimaCool pro Nordic to adapt to the face and do not interfere with concentration during the competitions.

BurnaAiming to win a gold for snowboarding, Adidas eyewear will be worn by Andy Finch (USA), well-known for the big air and half pipe specialties, Nate Holland and Jayson Hale (USA), X rider specialists. These athletes will also compete wearing the Burna goggles with the ClimaCool dynamic ventilation system. Visibility is improved, which is also thanks to an esthetical addition: a system of micro-perforations on the lens integrates the ClimaCool ventilation.

Adidas eyewear will also accompany the best woman athlete in the half pipe, Soko Yamaoka from Japan, one of the favorites along with Shiho Nakashima, also from Japan. Both will wear the Yodai goggles, famous for their wide vision, excellent optical quality and maximum comfort.
