MODO Group has announced the release of the second collection by Italia Independent since they acquired the brand in September 2023.
Their aim is to blend the progressive spirit of MODO with the disruptive spirit of the well-known brand and the eclectic genius of Creative Director, Lapo Elkann to deliver a collection that is timeless and on-trend at the same time.
The collection is made up of thirteen sunglasses and sixteen optical styles, for a total of one hundred and eight variants, developed in two predominant materials, acetate and stainless steel. Acetate is reinterpreted through sophisticated details in the line. Along with the more classic variations and a range of chic transparent hues, two particular colour themes distinguish the range. A metallic-effect finish inspired by the world of ‘90s racing yachts articulated in an array of colours and a camouflage family, inspired by a staple look of the brand, in expressive tones like green and more subtle ones like brown and dark purple. Temples feature a handcrafted metal core, customised with a pattern reproducing the brand logo, a detail that also adds refinement to these styles. Both thin and bold shapes offer refined lightness thanks to their special faceted design, providing “the most comfortable fit”.
The release includes the introduction of eight metal styles in stainless steel with a new contemporary structure and a strong geometric character. Ultra-lightness is the key to the easy fit of the styles, says the company, which also boast acetate temples tips.
According to MODO Group, Made in Italy remains the signature element of Italia Independent with its commitment to distinctive, high-quality craftsmanship. The AW24 Collection is a celebration of all the values that the brand shares with MODO Group, from independence and innovation to design, material research and heritage.
