The vinyl brand announces a Limited Edition in bright purple, an homage to Purple Rain
VINYLIZE has previewed the Purple Pupil Protectors, a limited edition of five frames to celebrate the colour purple and music legend Prince. Inspired by the singer, songwriter and his iconic album Purple Rain, the limited release is made of purple vinyl, instead of black.
The 5-piece collection with models Araya, Cliff, Express, Hazel, and Florence is limited to 120 pieces and comes packaged in a handmade custom box. Each frame is accompanied by a custom case, wiping cloth, vinyl care card, certificate of authenticity and personal display stand. Purple vinyl is something of a rarity, only used for Special Editions. Released in 1984, the album Purple Rain was the sixth studio album by the singer and the first to feature the billing of his band the Revolution. By the end of 1985, Purple Rain had received two Grammys, three American Music Awards, two Brit Awards, and an Academy Award for Best Original Song Score, and the album remained at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for 24 weeks and in the top 10 for 32 weeks, selling more than 25 million copies worldwide.
