A new eyewear series from Portrait, the Italian brand, is inspired by the Glitch art movement, often related to video art forms and photography. The resulting designs are made in stainless steel where the ‘Glitch’ is printed, expressed and turned into a meaningful, 3-dimensional accessory. Models include Charlotte, dedicated to Elisabeth Charlotte Rist, better known as Pipilotti Rist, and sunglass model Lye, inspired by the 1990s and New Zealand artist Leonard Charles Huia Lye. Portrait Eyewear further explores the concept in a new campaign entitled “Yes, I’m Glitched” featuring real people and offering a reminder that our glitches, flaws or “scars” are unique to each of us and an expression of who we are.
