NIDEK continues tech innovation with release of the NT -1/1e non contact tonometer.
Nidek's NT-1/1e non-contact tonometers have been developed without the pachymetry function to address market demand. This series of products now includes three innovative devices that provide “highly regarded reliability associated with NIDEK products”.
The NT-1p/1 performs fully automated measurements and includes an air-nozzle contact sensor to ensure patient safety. By simply placing the chin on the chinrest, the device automatically detects the position of the eyes and measurement begins without any operator assistance. Gentle voice guidance (available in 9 languages) facilitates smooth measurement. The corrected IOP values are displayed by entering the patient's corneal pachymetry.
The NT-1e is a basic model that enables manual measurement with high operability. The 3D auto tracking function, which is a standard feature of the NT-1 series, provides quick, simple, and efficiency, the company states.
A common feature of the NT-1 series is the continuous range of tilt/swivel of the screen that allows the device to be placed anywhere in an examination room including, installation against a wall or in a corner, explains Nidek. The conventional face-to-face position is available, and the devices are designed to provide high levels of patient comfort. The flexible layout and space-saving design contribute to improved productivity and efficiency. “The NT-1 series offers optimal products that satisfy a wide range of customer needs to meet clinical care,” says Motoki Ozawa, President and CEO, NIDEK CO., LTD. “Leveraging our expertise in optical technology and engineering, we will continue to develop products that address our customers' needs for efficient patient throughput while maintaining a small device footprint ensuring good patient flow at clinical facilities and optical shops.”
