MODO underlines the use of recycled metal in ECO collection

Written by MIDO | 07/12/2023

MODO states that the ECO brand is contributing to a “more sustainable eyewear industry”, reducing waste, and promoting a greener future.

The company communicates that they can engage more people in conversations about sustainability, encourage awareness and inspire environmentally conscious choices by using the material.
At ECO, the recycled metal used in the frames maintains the same durability and strength as frames made from new metal, according to the ECO team. The frames can withstand daily wear and tear while providing reliable support for lenses. Recycled metal allows for versatile design possibilities and can be used in creative and innovative shapes. Producing metal from recycled materials requires significantly less energy compared to the production of new metal. Recycling metal can also help conserve energy and reduce carbon emissions. ECO’s recycled metal frames are designed as compatible with a matching magnetic clip-on, making them easy to transform for a day out in the sun!
ECO says it is the first sustainable eyewear brand with the widest range of eco-friendly materials: recycled metal, biobased plastics, ocean plastic and bio acetate. The brand has developed an approach that “is 360° and naturally involves packaging, POP and logistics”.
