A sustainable brand launched by LARA D' in Italy
LARA D', the artisan brand created in Northern Italy, has announced the launch of the new line MALAMA, produced in biodegradable materials. The range features 10 optical designs, named after flowers, and has been designed for those who wish to prioritize a greener lifestyle, purchasing consciously, yet without compromising on style.
According to Lara D'Alpaos, the founder of LARA D', the new project combines the precise research of design and colour typical of the Lara D' brand with the use of sustainable and recycled materials, so committing to a new eco-friendly philosophy. MALAMA is the Hawaiian word for "to care for and protect", a mantra dedicated to taking care of the Earth. The concept for MALAMA was to design the new line with an expression of beauty, simple yet aligned through unique detail, to mirror nature. Inspired by the past and retro shapes and the 1970s, each model has required stylistic research and careful use of materials, producing minimal, mono-colour designs which play with light. Striving to take steps towards an environmentally sound future, the new world of MALAMA also explores the potential of recycled materials for the creation of the packaging, seeking out recycled paper for MALAMA cases and carefully selected recycled fabrics for the microfibre bags.
