Matt finish frames added in Centena Collection
Kirk & Kirk have announced they will show a new collection of Matt Centena frames at MIDO 2020, a development in the design concept which brings a new dimension to their acrylic line. With four shapes, models Horace, Sam, Eden and Ezra, in five colours - Matt Black, Matt Tortoise, Cherry, Cosmic and Forest, the frames also introduce a new metal double bridge, a radical departure for Kirk & Kirk, says brand co-founder Jason Kirk.
The Matt Centena frames offer a chunky retro feel, adding a new feel to the collection, and the matt finish is done by hand with a technique that ensures an even finish. Each frame is handcrafted from start to finish in one factory in France and over eighty steps are required to create each pair, according to the company.
There are a number of benefits to using acrylic but the most noticeable is its lightness compared to other frame materials making it very comfortable to wear. Using acrylic also allows the brand to create its own palette of colours which vary from very bright translucent tones to classic black and tortoise.
