Bayria Eyewear presents the Caffè Rosati series

Bayria Eyewear presents the Caffè Rosati series, a series of eyewear inspired by the use of pure colour, immediacy and references to Pop Art. The company was particularly influenced by the Capitoline artists of Rome in the 1960s for the designs.
In the new series, the company has used what they describe as unprecedented use of acetate sheets and different colours, superimposed on one other. Placing two plates in different colours in this way, the craftsmen ‘carve out’ the front, creating different thicknesses from one piece, or leaving some parts in relief, enhanced by the colour block effect.
The shapes, which are typically informed by the 1960s are large and square, and recall the ‘filtered reality’ of the cathode ray tubes in Mario Schifano’s art. Colour is also fundamental here, strong and in sharp contrast with that of the underlying acetate, to convey “a strong identity, in line with Pop culture”.
The key colours are black, alone or combined with antique pink or pink havana, burgundy and horn, together with soft and elegant colours, such as transparent ‘sugar paper’, tobacco and tortoiseshell. The colored lenses, which come in purple, burgundy, green and graduated light blue complete the look of this collection.
