Innovative shapes for an iconic and surprising look
AREA98 describes its new COCO SONG collection as a meeting of East and West, full of innovation and unique details. The colors and shapes are influenced by the Far East and produced by hand with precious and exclusive materials: silk, feathers, dried flowers and semi-precious stones such as turquoise, lapis lazuli and tiger eye. Die cast metal inserts complete the frames, made using specialized goldsmith’s techniques to create authentic jewellery style eyewear, with symbols and good luck charms. A focus on geometric shapes makes this new collection modern, characterized by opulence and clean design, according to the company. For the season, Coco Song offers the models in pairs with the same decorative concept, and a front in metal or acetate. The styles are created according to the iconic brand codes, giving life to inimitable styles which, for 2021, dare to explore completely new and refined shapes. The models include Hope Village, born to be an icon of the collection with its sharp acetate front and pure silk and feather inserts. Die cast tangled ropes wrap with concentric squares the small semi-precious stones mounted in the temples. Model Good Feeling represents the maximum expression of attention to detail, according to the company. The acetate front is balanced in the selection of shape and volume, which emphasize the bright shades of inserted silk and colorful feathers; the temples, in contrasting colors, are characterized by a precious jewel. The hinge, with its semi-precious stone and finishes – created with a drilling technique - are inspired by the scales of mythological creatures.
