2015 Edition
FEBRUARY 28, MARCH 1-2, 2015
Never Ending Wonder
The positive atmosphere that heralded the 45th edition of MIDO was confirmed by the closing data: the Milano event registered over 49,000 attendances, validating its leadership at the international level.
The growing interest was already perceptible in the months before the opening: the new and fascinating communication campaign, the new logo with the payoff Never Ending Wonder, the pavilions closer to the metro, the layout renovated and streamlined, a new award dedicated to the best optical centers in the world (BeStore) have led to a significant increase in the exhibition area and exhibitors who, in a few months, have optioned all the available spaces. In addition, the big newcomer Lab Academy in the Design Lab area was definitely a winning move: an incubator of ideas, a very special space exclusively for creative talents and upcoming designers who have gone through a strict selection process and at the show for the first time. The special location has a fresh, non-conformist feel to it. It’s for anyone whose motto is originality and who loves to test by pushing the frontiers.
The offer of this edition was so complete and tempting and visitors did not miss the opportunity. The intent is always to deliver the best to exhibitors and visitors in terms of being efficient and offering real business opportunities, by guaranteeing specifically “tailored” services, in a very internationally-minded way.
The initiative "Two trains to MIDO" then contributed to the increase in the turnout of Italian operators, but surely has its weight also the widespread desire to recover that pervades the national market, in difficulty for a long time. The final result is exceptional, especially if contextualized within the economic uncertainty that still pervades some countries.
The numbers
Over 49,000 attendees from 157 countries (22,000 from Italy and 27,000 international), with an increase of 8.7% compared to 2014, 1,159 exhibitors (150 new) from 46 nations distributed in 6 pavilions and 7 exhibition areas (+10%).
