Persol annuncia che viene attribuito all'attrice statunitense Frances McDormand il Persol Tribute to Visionary Talent Award 2014 della 71. Mostra Internazionale d'Arte Cinematografica della Biennale di Venezia. Persol, marchio da sempre sinonimo di eleganza e di fascino, è ormai una leggenda nella storia dell'occhialeria italiana e internazionale. Il cinema è da sempre nel suo dna: a partire dagli Anni '60, infatti, i modelli Persol sono stati più volte protagonisti in alcune fra le pellicole più rappresentative della cinematografia italiana e sono divenuti la scelta personale di numerosi e indimenticabili artisti e talenti del mondo del cinema e dello star system internazionale. Il forte legame con il mondo del cinema, rimasto inalterato nel tempo, si traduce nel decimo anno consecutivo di collaborazione tra Persol e la 71. Mostra di Venezia oggi, lunedì 1 settembre, alle 16.45 in Sala Grande al Palazzo del Cinema. A seguire, sarà presentato Fuori Concorso, Olive Kitteridge diretto da Lisa Cholodenko (Usa) con Frances McDormand, Richard Jenkins, Bill Murray, John Gallagher Jr., Zoe Kazan, una serie in quattro puntate che nasce dall'adattamento dell'omonimo romanzo di Elizabeth Strout, vincitore del Premio Pulitzer. I produttori esecutivi di Olive Kitteridge sono Gary Goetzman, Tom Hanks, Frances McDormand e Jane Anderson; la miniserie, scritta da Jane Anderson e prodotta da Playtone / As Is, debutterà sulla HBO negli Stati Uniti il prossimo novembre.   Frances McDormand ha ricevuto quattro nomination agli Academy Awards, con Mississippi Burning – Le radici dell'odio (1988), Quasi famosi (2000), North Country – Storia di Josey (2005) e Fargo (1996), per il quale ha vinto l'Oscar grazie alla sua interpretazione di Marge Gunderson. It was followed by the premiere of Olive Kitteridge, directed by Lisa Cholodenko (USA) with Frances McDormand, Richard Jenkins, Bill Murray, John Gallagher Jr. and Zoe Kazan, a four-part series based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book of the same name by Elizabeth Strout.
