Pensati per gli sportivi o in alternativa ai Google Glass? Recon Instruments ha annunciato un nuovo modello di occhiali tecnologici pensati appositamente per gli sportivi, che raggiungerà i vari mercati entro la fine dell'anno.   Recon Jet sarà il nome di questo modello di occhiali tecnologici pensati appositamente per atleti e sportivi, con un occhio di riguardo verso i ciclisti, ma non solo. Sono in grado di proteggere gli occhi e nel frattempo mostrare diversi parametri fra cui la velocità media o attuale, i chilometri percorsi e quelli ancora da portare a termine.   Tom Flower a capo del marketing di Recon Instruments ci tiene a precisare che non si tratta di un modello generico di occhiali tecnologici, ma gli obiettivi di Recon Jet sono espressamente specifici: non sono occhiali che vanno indossati per tutto il giorno ma esclusivamente durante le nostre attività sportive. Apparentemente quindi non in conflitto con gli ormai noti Google Glass, i Recon Jet raggiungono un target ben specifico ma potrebbero diventare una scelta interessante anche per l'uso urbano?   I sensori di velocità e l'altimetro rivelano la loro anima dedicata agli sport d'alta quota, al ciclismo o alla corsa mentre il monitor, o meglio l'HUD, Head-up display, è posto sotto l'occhio destro e non sopra come nei Glass, innestato in un'asta che segue tutto il profilo dell'occhiale e termina proprio sotto la lente.   A muovere il tutto c'è un processore dual core gestito da Android, stesso sistema operativo adottato dai Google Glass, mentre la connettività è garantita da WiFi e Bluetooth. Non manca poi la fotocamera HD, una mini action-cam che potrà in futuro sostituire GoPro e socie nella registrazione di filmati adrenalinici.   Dal punto di vista estetico appaiono meno "alieni" rispetto al modello Google e questo è un punto a favore che potrebbe incentivarne la diffusione anche se il peso raggiungerà i 60 grammi.   L'uscita è prevista entro la fine del 2013 mentre sul prezzo non ci sono ancora informazioni dettagliate. Recon Instruments has announced new technological glasses designed specifically for athletes that will be launched in various markets by the end of the year.   Recon Jet is the name of the technological glasses designed specifically for athletes and sportsmen and women, with a focus on cyclists and even beyond. They protect the eyes while displaying different parameters that include average or current speed, kilometers traveled and those to be completed.   Head of marketing at Recon Instruments Tom Flower wanted to point out that Recon Jet are not a generic model of technological glasses, but have very specific aims: they are not designed to be worn all day, but exclusively when practicing sport. Therefore, it would seem that they do not clash with the now famous Google Glass because Recon Jet is for a very specific target. Could they become an interesting choice also for city use?   Speed sensors and an altimeter are signs of a commitment to high-altitude sports, cycling or running, whereas the monitor or, rather, the Head-Up Display (HUD), is located under the right eye, not above it like Google Glass, inserted in a temple that follows the entire profile of the glasses and ends right under the lens.   Everything is activated by an Android dual core processor, the same operating system used by Google Glass, and connectivity is guaranteed by Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. There is also an HD camera, a mini action-cam that in the future could replace GoPro and similar products for recording adrenaline-charged films.   From an aesthetical viewpoint, they are less "alien" than the Google model and this is a point in their favor that could encourage distribution, even though they will weigh up to 60 grams. They are expected to make their debut by end 2013 but, as yet, there is no detailed information about their price.
